Collection: Editions

Hermann Nitsch, renowned for his Orgies Mysteries Theatre, also created an extensive body of graphic work throughout his life, which is inextricably linked to his entire artistic philosophy. His prints and editions are not mere illustrations of his Actions, but rather independent forms of expression that often take up the same themes, such as ecstasy, opulence, sensuality, and the engagement with flesh and matter.

Nitsch utilized diverse graphic techniques, including lithography, etching, screen printing, and drawing, to visualize his ideas. The works range from detailed drafts and Scores (Partituren) for his Actions to abstract color fields reminiscent of his Pour Paintings (Schüttbilder).
