Between 2020 and 2021, the exhibition at the nitsch museum presented new large-scale works from Nitsch's late creative period. The works captivated the public with completely new, luminous color compositions of a kind hardly known from Nitsch before then.

Nitsch himself commented on this phase of his painting as follows: "It gives me great joy to concentrate on the flower-colored luminosity of the smeared paint substance in the works I am still able to produce as an eighty-year-old. Resurrection is a principle to me more than ever." (2019)
